Twitter recently launched user galleries, and Peter Mayer was quick to find an innovative way to implement the new functionality for clients.
User galleries aggregate Tweeted images into an organized grid displaying the user’s 100 most recent images. Twitter launched user galleries in August to boost its “stickiness” factor, the quality that keeps visitors clicking around within an application and makes them want to visit more often.
With the state’s ongoing run of economic development wins and impressive economic rankings, Louisiana Economic Development has a great deal of compelling information to communicate. Peter Mayer found several ways to do that with LED’s Twitter user gallery to showcase Louisiana’s significant economic development stats.
First, we were able to build a message using the space afforded by the “Recent Images” area on LED’s Twitter profile. By seeding specific images as the four most recent uploads, that section of the page now reads “1st IN THE U.S.”
Second, users who elect to view the full image gallery will arrive at an impressive array of superlative infographics related to the state and its growing reputation as a new frontier for business opportunity.
Finally, clicking on any image will take the user to the image detail view, which contains the Tweet associated with that specific image, providing more information about the particular accomplishment, ranking or piece of news associated with the image.
Twitter is an integral component of the day-to-day communication that takes place between many of Peter Mayer’s clients and their customers. We’re always looking for ways to innovate with Twitter and LED’s user gallery is one example of the kind of creative thinking that can be applied to Twitter’s most basic functions.
