Members of Peter Mayer’s Media team, including the entire Broadcast Buying Group, recently completed Arbitron’s PPM Passport program. PPM (Portable People Meter) is the new standard of audience measurement for the top 50 radio markets. Instead of relying on the diary method of measurement, which requires listeners to write down a record of their radio usage, PPM records listening data passively through codes embedded in radio stations’ signals. This technology allows for continuous, more accurate and more in-depth audience measurement.
The PPM Passport program entails a series of advanced training sessions that leads to successful media planning and buying with PPM ratings and its implications on the radio landscape. The program consists of two prerequisite courses and three more advanced elective courses for a total of five comprehensive sessions. Peter Mayer is now certified in this important ratings currency, and the agency is officially recognized by Arbitron as having PPM experts on staff.
