Speaking engagements for Media Director Jordy Luft

Agency Media Director Jordy Luft continues to be a sought-after guest speaker in professional and educational circles. Most recently, he returned to his alma mater, LSU, to address two groups of Mass Communications students. In a Media Persuasion class, Luft spoke about a career in media, the current media landscape, the various roles research plays in crafting strategic plans, and he also offered insights into the inner workings of an advertising agency.

Luft fielded numerous questions on a wide array of subjects ranging from the media usage traits of different demographic and psychographic groups to the impact of digital and social media. Luft also led a round-table discussion among juniors and seniors enrolled in an upper-level Media Sales class. The group talked about how to establish a mutually beneficial and trusting relationship between buyer and seller, how to make an effective initial sales call and what basic information should be included in a media sales kit.

Prior to the LSU engagement, Luft was invited by Tribune Television New Orleans to meet with the joint sales teams of WGNO-TV and WNOL-TV. While there, he offered suggestions to the stations’ account executives on how to creatively package, combine and position inventory to and for broadcast buyers, in addition to providing other useful negotiating tips.
