Lovell presents to Public Relations Association of Louisiana

On Tuesday, May 22, 2012, Management Supervisor Larry Lovell presented one of his award-winning public relations campaigns to the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Baton Rouge Chapter. At the organization’s invitation, Lovell discussed “Katrina and Beyond—Launching a Major New Hurricane Exhibit to National Fanfare,” which unveiled the strategy, tactics, and results of Peter Mayer’s public relations initiatives to launch and open the Louisiana State Museum’s permanent hurricane exhibit in New Orleans in late 2010.

The six-month campaign generated nearly 200 million targeted media relations impressions and a more than three-fold visitation increase over the popular Mardi Gras exhibit it replaced on the ground floor of the Presbytere – a National Historic Landmark building on Jackson Square in the French Quarter. The work received three gold Adrian Awards from the prestigious Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International organization as well as a Silver Quill of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators.
