Come the first weekend in October, more than 20 Peter Mayer staffers will don helmets, settle into the saddles and push their bikes and bodies to the limit of no retreat, no return. (Well, probably not).

The fun: Two-day 150-mile Bike MS ride from Hammond, La., to McComb, Miss., and back.

The cause: Raising money to help the National Multiple Sclerosis Society fund research and assist families living with this unpredictable disease

So how are we raising money for MS?

The team organized a French-themed potluck at a local tavern (on Bastille Day, of course), an agency happy hour and bake sale furthered the cause, and two teamsters even shaved their heads to raise money for good. All this is not surprising given Peter Mayer’s rich history of supporting a variety of nonprofit organizations in the greater New Orleans area.
