StoryCorps, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help people record the stories of their lives, recently brought its mobile recording booth to New Orleans for the second time. Passionate about oral history, Executive Creative Director Josh Mayer took advantage of this opportunity to interview his father, Peter.

Peter, who emigrated with his parents from Nazi Germany as a six year old, told stories of his trip across the Atlantic, of growing up in New Orleans, and of his parents’ entrepreneurial endeavors. The story, including audio, is featured in the Times-Picayune here.
