Peter Mayer Hires New VP of Strategy and Planning

Powerhouse in strategy development joins the team

Michelle Edelman, VP of Strategy & PlanningWe are very excited to welcome Michelle Edelman to the ever-growing Peter Mayer family. Michelle is a renowned force in the world of strategy and has recently joined the agency as Vice President, Strategy and Planning.

Throughout her career, Michelle has been instrumental in building planning departments at agencies around the country. Most recently, she was president and director of communications planning at NYCA, a boutique firm in San Diego. Prior to that, she served as managing partner, director of planning and brand stewardship at Ogilvy & Mather in Chicago and, prior to that, was SVP/chief planning officer at Leo Burnett USA. We’re confident her leadership will be a driving force in growing our own Strategy and Planning team.

Michelle’s work has pushed the boundaries for many well-known brands. Her thought leadership on Dove’s Real Beauty campaign elevated the brand as a contemporary icon for beauty. Her experience also includes guiding strategic direction for brands such as Allstate, Quiznos, Motorola, EarthLink, DirecTV, Sun Microsystems and the San Diego Visitors & Convention Bureau. She is a frequent speaker and award show judge, and has co-edited two marketing books on the baby boomer generation.

“As Peter Mayer works to innovate its agency service offerings, I’m excited to take planning forward for all of our clients and build new planning products and services that help clients leverage their cultural capital,” stated Michelle.

Through her experience, Michelle has built expertise and processes for all types of planning duties, from creative and brand planning to strategic business planning. She has managed and integrated digital planning, connections planning, analytics and communications development as part of the strategic discipline.

As she settles into her new role and her new city, Michelle had this to say, “I’m really looking forward to diving into the culture of innovation and progress that is here in New Orleans. It’s an exciting time to be part of such a vibrant city, and of course, I can’t wait to experience Mardi Gras!”
