National WWII Museum campaign takes highest honor at Adrian Awards

Peter Mayer Advertising and Sandy Hillman Communications of Baltimore, Md., won a Platinum Adrian Award, the highest award in tourism marketing, at the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Awards in New York on January 31.

Considered the highest honor in tourism marketing, the Platinum Adrian was awarded for the two agencies’ public relations work for The National WWII Museum’s “Experience the Victory” campaign. The three-day event earned national media attention for the grand opening of the museum’s Solomon Victory Theater; Beyond All Boundaries, the 4-D cinematic experience produced by Tom Hanks; The Stage Door Canteen; and The American Sector, a John Besh restaurant.

Significant media placements secured by the PR team included an interview with Tom Hanks and Tom Brokaw on NBC’s Today and an appearance by Tom Hanks on The Late Show with David Letterman.
