PLANTS FIRST OF 40 TREES IN CITY PARK TO COMMEMORATE MILESTONE

(NEW ORLEANS, LA- August 28, 2007 ) – Peter A. Mayer Advertising Inc., the region’s largest full-service agency with more that 120 professional employees and staff members, will celebrate the agency’s 40th anniversary on Friday, September 7th.
The agency will celebrate the milestone by planting 40 trees in New Orleans City Park. The trees will serve as a reminder of the deep roots the agency has in New Orleans and its continued commitment to grow with the community.
On Thursday, September 6th at 2 p.m., Peter Mayer, the agency’s founder, will plant the first of the 40 trees with his sons Mark Mayer, agency president, and Josh Mayer, creative director.
“For 40 years, we have been passionate about our community,” said Mark Mayer. “We hope that by replanting trees lost in Katrina, we can not only reaffirm our commitment to this city, but also contribute to the growth we see here.”
“Peter Mayer Advertising and the Mayer family have been actively contributing to the community for 40 years,” said City Park CEO Bob Becker. “The philanthropic actions of the Mayers and their employees have helped nurture City Park and the community at-large.”
The mix of trees planted will include 20 pine, 2 live oak, 2 sycamore, 3 red swamp maple, 7 oriental magnolia, 3 ilex opaca, and 3 cypress trees. The entire grove of 40 trees will be planted in November of this year. The grove will be in the front of the park, in an area adjacent to Bayou Metairie.
Peter A. Mayer Advertising Inc. was founded in 1967 with three employees and $200,000 in annual billings. Today it is one of the largest full-service advertising, public relations and marketing agencies in the Gulf South, with a staff of more than 12
