Fest Happily Ever After

Two weeks ago the 2014 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival talent announcement video went live and if you’re like us, you can’t get enough of the video or its soundtrack.

“This is the way to announce a lineup!” one fan stated.

The authentic sights, sounds and culture of Jazz Fest are brought to life in this year’s video through the use of storybook animation. With the tagline of “Fest Happily Ever After,” it was crafted to tell the story of a Jazz Fest experience: musicians of all genres, street artists, Mardi Gras Indians, secondline umbrellas. There’s so much to see, you can’t watch it just once. And it helps that it plays to the perfect soundtrack by Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Once again, Peter Mayer teamed up with Moontower VFX of Austin to develop the video.

In the 48 hours after the video was posted on YouTube, it had received over 200,000 views and hundreds of likes. But no one is more excited about this year’s lineup than our team. Peter Mayer, which has represented the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for many years, actually does a soft closing at noon on the first Friday of every Jazz Fest. One of the perks of working here is that you get a free ticket for opening weekend.

Jazz Fest 2014 takes place April 25 to May 4 and features famous performers like Eric Clapton; Christina Aguilera; and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band; as well as New Orleans favorites including Rebirth Brass Band and Aaron Neville.
