Peter A. Mayer Advertising expands Baton Rouge office and Public Relations department

BATON ROUGE, La., (October 21, 2010) – Peter A. Mayer Advertising,Inc., a New Orleans-based full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency, announces the promotion of Lori Melancon to public relations management supervisor and the addition of Emily Treister as public relations account executive. Treister joins Melancon in the agency’s Baton Rouge office.

Together, Melancon and Treister bring a range of experience to the Peter A. Mayer team, which is committed to expanding its presence in the Baton Rouge market and growing its public relations department agency-wide. Currently, Peter A. Mayer Advertising handles advertising and public relations services for several Baton Rouge-based organizations, including Amedisys Home Health Services; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana; Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism; and Louisiana Economic Development.

Mayer Advertising. “Lori’s strong community relationships and Emily’s PR agency experience add a higher level of service for the Baton Rouge office.”

Previously, Melancon served as account supervisor in the public relations department of Peter A. Mayer. Prior to Peter A. Mayer, Melancon served as director of communications and special projects for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC). She also has served as the director of marketing and operations for the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA), handled marketing for a world-renowned New Orleans chef, and owned a design agency in Houston. Melancon has an undergraduate degree in general studies with honors from LSU and a Master of Science degree in occupational technology from the University of Houston.

Before joining Peter A. Mayer, Treister served as senior account executive in the Miami Beach office of a boutique public relations firm and worked in the Miami office of the award-winning advertising and branding firm Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Among other accomplishments, Treister was a member of the team that successfully developed and implemented numerous strategic campaigns for Slim Jim and Volkswagen. In addition, Treister’s solid relationships with the media enabled her to secure editorial coverage for her clients in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press, among others. Treister received a Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Boston University.
