On September 15, Louisiana Economic Development announced that Nucor Corp. (NYSE: NUE), the nation’s largest steel maker, selected Louisiana for its planned multiphase iron and steel manufacturing facility.
The new facility will give St. James Parish one of the largest industrial projects in Louisiana history – a
$750 million plant creating 1,250 new, direct jobs with salaries averaging at least $75,000 per year, plus benefits, and $3.4 billion in capital investment.
LED tapped Peter Mayer to help manage the announcement’s press conference, which featured Gov. Bobby Jindal, LED Secretary Stephen Moret, Nucor executives and several local leaders.
